Who we are
Nerdely is run by Company name, based in Sahiwal, Pakistan. We are the controller of your personal data.

What we collect
- Account details. Your name, email address, phone number and country.
- Your child’s learning details. Their first name, year group, subjects, goals and the times that suit you.
- Lessons and learning. Lesson times and attendance, chat messages, whiteboard work, homework, quiz and test scores, and notes from the tutor.
- Payments. What you bought and when. Stripe handles your card details, not us.
- Tutor details. Profile details, photo, intro video, qualifications, availability and rates, plus payout details such as bank details or a Stripe account.
- Technical data. Basic device and browser information, and a notification token if you turn on notifications.
How we use it
- To find a tutor and run lessons. Matching, booking and our online classroom. We need this to provide the service you asked for.
- To take payment and pay tutors. Including refunds. This is part of our contract with you, and some records are a legal requirement.
- To keep you updated. Lesson reminders, progress updates and monthly reports. You can change notification settings in your account.
- To keep lessons safe. Preventing misuse and resolving disputes. This is in our legitimate interests and yours.
- To meet the law. Tax, accounting and other legal obligations.
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Children
Our lessons are for children and young people, so we take extra care. A parent or guardian sets up and manages the account for a child under 13.
Tutors who browse requests only see a student’s first name, country and what they need help with, never their email address or surname.
Transfers outside the UK
Our team is based in Pakistan, and some of our providers store or process data in other countries, including the United States. Wherever your data goes, we make sure proper safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open, and afterwards only as long as we need it for legal, tax or dispute reasons. Homework file uploads expire automatically after 15 days.
When you close your account, we delete or anonymise your data, except where the law says we must keep it.
Your rights
- See it. Ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct it. Fix anything that’s wrong or out of date.
- Delete it. Ask us to erase your data.
- Limit or object. Ask us to stop or restrict certain uses.
- Take it with you. Get your data in a format you can reuse.
To use any of these, email privacy@nerdely.com. We’ll reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Keeping it safe
Lessons happen in our own classroom, not on personal apps or phone numbers. Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored securely, and only people who need access have it.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we’ll tell you by email or in your account before they take effect.
