How we teach Geography
Key Stage 3 geography covers places, climate, rivers, population and map skills. Pupils learn to describe patterns and explain how people and environments affect each other.
GCSE Geography has physical, human and fieldwork components, along with skills such as reading maps, interpreting graphs and using statistics. Case studies matter: students must recall named examples and use them as evidence.
At A-Level, students study topics such as hazards, coasts, global systems and place, and write extended responses supported by data. They also complete an independent investigation. Our tutors help your child choose and learn case studies, practise data questions and structure longer answers.

Geography tutoring questions
Do you help with case studies?
Yes. Tutors help students pick strong examples, learn the key facts and use them in answers.
What about fieldwork?
Tutors cover the enquiry process, data collection methods, presentation and evaluation questions that are examined in the papers.
Is there a lot of maths in geography?
There is some. GCSE and A-Level include calculations and statistics, and tutors practise those skills alongside the content.
Can a tutor help with the A-Level independent investigation?
Yes. Tutors can help students develop a question, plan methods and structure the write-up, which must remain their own work.
