How we teach Maths
Maths builds on itself. A shaky grasp of fractions in Year 5 becomes a problem with algebra in Year 8 and a lost grade at GCSE, which is why our tutors start by finding the gaps rather than following a fixed scheme.
Lessons are live and one to one, with a shared whiteboard for working through problems together. Tutors set short homework and quizzes after each lesson, so practice happens between sessions too.
For exam years, tutors work from your child’s own exam board: past papers, mark schemes and the command words examiners use.

Maths tutoring questions
What age do you tutor maths from?
We tutor maths from primary school (Key Stage 1 and 2) through 11+, Key Stage 3, GCSE, A-Level and Further Maths.
My child is not behind. Can tutoring still help?
Yes. Many families use tutoring to stretch a confident student, for grammar school entrance, or to aim for the top grades at GCSE and A-Level.
How quickly will we see a difference?
It depends on the starting point, but most parents see more confidence within a few weeks. Weekly test scores in your account show how things are moving.
Do lessons follow the school curriculum?
Yes. Tutors follow the National Curriculum and, for exam years, your child’s exam board specification, focusing on whatever your child needs most.
